Warawee

Warrawee – Redlands Carers Hub

9 Acacia St

Wellington Point, Qld, 4160

Warrawee - Redlands Carers Hub is specifically designed to provide support to families or friends who care for, or about someone with a mental health concern and/or psychiatric disability. , As part of funding through the Department of Social Services, The Hub specifically targets Mental Health Carers, providing information, support and relief from the caring role.

What is Warrawee Like?

Warrawee is large two storey home, overlooking Waterloo Bay, in the Redlands. Set in a quiet  cul-de-sac, it is a tranquil spot with an abundance of birdlife and uninterrupted water views. Walking distance to the cafes and restaruants at Wellington Point, and only short distance to Wellington Point Reserve. Warrawee offers carers  the ideal location to take time out and unwind, whether it is for a few hours or several days.

What does Warrawee offer?

Warrawee offers a range of supports to carers with staff aiming to tailor support to each Carers individual needs. Sometimes all a carer needs is a space to relax, a cuppa or a willing ear. Other carers may be more interested in formal education sessions, or counselling. Whatever type of support carers are after, Warrawee aims to provide a safe space where carers feel free to come, unwind and distress.

The types of supports that we offer include:

·         Monthly daytime and night time support groups;

·         Group education and information sessions;

·         Social gatherings and recreational activities for carers;

·         Out-of-home respite for the Carer

·         Individual counselling;

·         Peer support;

·         Referral and assistance to access other relevant supports and services.

Respite with a difference

At Warrawee our respite model is unique as it offers an opportunity for Carers to come and stay with us and have a break from the care giving role. By having Carers stay with us, it allows them to truly relax and recharge, away from their busy lives and many responsibilities.

We are committed to treating each carer as a unique and important individual and focus on their comfort, wellbeing and happiness during their stay with us. We aim to provide a space where carers can have time way from the caring role, to increase their confidence, capacity and choices, and to improve the wellbeing of families and carers.
